Platform Support
----------------

* **CPython**: Full support via ``pyserial`` library
* **MicroPython Unix/Linux**: Supported (direct file I/O)
* **MicroPython ESP32**: **NOT supported** (raises RuntimeError)

.. note::
   For ESP32, use :doc:`spi` or :doc:`network` transport instead.
